We quote his words: “The ladies of my congregation are to be commended for their zeal in the erection of the new church. They raised nearly $2000, by means of sociables and festivals.” Mr. Johnson has entered upon the sixth year of his ministry in this city, during which time 150 members have been added to his congregation. He is a hard and earnest laborer in the vineyard, and has won the universal esteem and respect of all who have been privileged with an acquaintance with him.
