Beers & Co., Chicago, Ill., 1880 Albert Robbins, Auditor; was born July 8, 1843, in Jefferson County, Ohio; in October, 1851, he removed with his parents to DeKalb County, Ind., where he lived upon a farm near the town of Auburn until August 1862, when he enlisted in the One Hundredth Indiana Volunteers, but, his health failing, he was discharged in November of the same year. In July, 1863, he commenced clerking in the town of Auburn; in September, 1864, he entered the grocery business, in which trade he was engaged about three years. On January 5, 1865, he was engaged in mercantile business, most of which time he was in the employ of John L. Davis, banker and principal hardware dealer of DeKalb county, in the capacity of chief clerk, and book-keeper. In October, 1878, he was elected County Auditor, which position he now holds. Mr. Robbins is on of the most efficient Auditors the county has ever had. Courteous, obliging and energetic, every one with whom he transacts business is pleased with his ability and promptness of carrying on the duties of his office.
