Robert T. Duncan, son of George J. Duncan, was born in Holmes County, Ohio, 
in 1848.  He came with his parents to De Kalb County, and remained with them 
till their death.  Since his father’s death in 1870 he has lived on the old 
homestead, a sister Margaret Duncan, also making her home with him. He has 
been twice married.  His first wife, Florence Wilson, came to De Kalb County 
from Ohio with her mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Wilson, her father having died in 
Ohio.  Mrs. Duncan died Jan. 4, 1878, leaving one son---Andrew W.   Mr. 
Duncan subsequently married Sarah Ann Freed, daughter of Peter Freed, of 
Smithfield Township.
