Squiers was born in New Milford, Conn., March 17, 1799, and when a young man emigrated to Ohio, where he was married Jan. 1, 1820, to Betsey Frisbee, who died April 12, 1824, leaving two children---Jonathan, of Allen County, Ind., and Elizabeth, wife of Lester Wright, of Geauga County, Ohio. Aug, 12, 1826, Mr. Squiers married Susan, daughter of Nathan and Mary Wyatt, and in 1837 came with the Wyatt family to De Kalb County, and settled on section 13, Jackson Township. On the farm now owned by William Johnson. To this marriage were born eight children, four of whom are living---Nathan; Rebecca, wife of Newton Askew; Harriet, wife of Burton Brown; and John W., of Kansas. Asher C. Squiers died Aug. 12, 1863.
