Treesh was born Jan. 10, 1846, in Stark County, Ohio, and is the third son and ninth child of Michael Treesh. When seven years of age he removed with his parents to De Kalb County, Ind., where he was reared on a farm, and educated in the district schools. He remained at home till Sept, 10, 1864, when he enlisted in Company A, One Hundred and Forty-second Indiana Infantry, and served in the armies of the Potomac and Cumberland till the close of the war, when he was honorably discharged June 28, 1865, at Nashville, Tenn. After the war he worked out during the summer and engaged in teaching vocal music during the winter seasons till 1872, when he settled on a part of his father’s farm, and has since followed agricultural pursuits. He was married April 3, 1873, to Miss Margaret, daughter of Henry Ober, and to them have been born four children---Olive May, Chester Lloyd, Jesse Eugene, and Earl Leroy. Mr. and Mrs. Treesh are members of he Lutheran church. Politically he is a Democrat. He was elected Justice of the Peace in the spring of 1884.
