Wair, section 4, Newville Township, was born in Paulding County, Ohio, Dec. 23, 1839, a son of J. M. Wair, a native of New England, who moved West when our subject was small and died their. James W. was reared and educated in his native county. He was married June 22, 1871, to Mrs. Almeda S. Boland, widow of Edward Boland, and daughter of Samuel Swetland, She was born in the State of New York, January, 1834, and when eleven years old her parents moved to Lorain County, Ohio, and se was married there when nineteen years old, to Edward Boland, and came directly to this county.
