Allen Weaver, farmer and stock-raiser, is a native of De Kalb County, Ind., and was born on the farm where he now lives May 24, 1848, the eldest son of David and Kittie Ann (Swan) Weaver. He was reared a farmer, receiving a good education, attending first the district schools and then the Auburn Academy. In 1870 he went to Kansas and was engaged in dealing in stock in Brown County a year. Then returned home and remained two years, and then went again to Brown County, and for two years sold sewing-machines, meeting with good success. In 1875 he returned to De Kalb County, and has since lived on the old homestead, having charge of the farm. He was married Sept. 10, 1878, to Etta Garver, a native of De Kalb County, daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Garver, pioneers of the county. To them have been born two children---Kittie and Daisy May.
