Obituary: Cynthia Lovesta Gee Coburn Cynthia Lovesta Gee was born February 4, 1831 in New Lyme, Ashtabula County, Ohio, and died May 15, 1906 at her home near Coburn Corners, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 11 days. She came with her parents to DeKalb County, Indiana in 1839, thus spending nearly her whole life in this neighborhood, and was acquainted with the hardships of pioneer life. It was in 1849 she was married to Wm. R. Coburn (William Riley, parenthesis mine), to them were born nine children, all of whom are living to mourn the loss of a dear devoted mother. In early life, at the age of ten, she gave herself to Christ, was immersed by Elder Benjamin Alton and has always lived an exemplary Christian life. She can certainly say with Paul: I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, not only for me, but for all that love his Appearing. She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, nine children, twenty-six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and numerous other relatives and friends. She has gone, but her good works will live in the hearts of those who knew her, for to know her was to love her. In the church and in sickness she was always faithful, always to b depended upon for help and assistance. She has left a precious memory free from spot or blemish that will linger with the loved ones who remain. The funeral services were held at the Coburn's Corners church, Friday forenoon, Elder Thomas preaching the funeral. Beams and Baker had charge of the burial.
