Newville News NEWVILLE, Ind., April 24,--L.W. YEISER and family spent Sunday at Avilla, Mr. YEISER'S father, who has been visiting here the past week, returning home at that time. The Loyal Sons and Daughters of the Christian Sunday school will be entertained Thursday evening at the home of FOREST FUSSELMAN. Mrs. JENNIE GENGNAGEL and Miss LAURA BRUNSON left the first of the week to attend Grand Chapter O.E.S. at Indianapolis. Miss BRUNSON going instead of Mrs. McNABB, whose recent illness prevented her from attending. A.L. HIVELY and wife, SAM WYATT, wife and son CLAYTON, ORSON REASONER, PRESTON ROBERTS, ROBERT NICHOLS and wife, SIMON NICHOLLS, PARSLEY NICHOLLS, MADELINE NICHOLLS, ORVILLE HIVELY, GARNET WYATT, MCKINLEY BEREE and MARY MAY attended the dedication of the U.B. church at Butler on Sunday. Trustee W.S. TUSTISON took the school enumeration of Newville township last week REV. HIVELY and wife spent Friday in butler at the home of REV. RITTENHOUSE. C.A. WASHLER and wife, IRA RHINEHART and wife, VALORIS GAFF, wife and son KENNETH, ADRIAN WASHLER and wife GROVER WALTERS and wife and JOHN WASHLER and wife attended the funeral Sunday at Rehobeth Chapel of MRS. J.L. FARVER, 53, deceased was a victim of tuberculosis and leaves a husband, three sons and three daughters. The Pythian order is growing at this place, another candidate being given the work Friday evening, making nineteen lady members. The Christian Aid met Thursday afternoon with Mrs. W.L. STRONG, eight members being present. The next meeting will be May 3 at the home of Mrs. NETTIE ABEL. Mrs. DERMOTT is quite ill with a threatened attack of pneumonia. April 22 the Christian Sunday school attendance was 96; offering $2.71. The United Brethren Sunday school numbered 76, offering $3.19. Remember that April 29 is Visitor's day at the United Brethren Sunday school. Come and bring some one with you. Help make this attendance reach the 200 mark. BERT PATTEE and family and Mrs. MARGARET LOVELAND spent Sunday I butler at the home of JOHN LOOMIS. GEORGE OBERLIN and family and guest Mrs. EMMA SLENTZ attended Sunday school at Coburntown Sunday and were dinner guests of ROMEO HEADLY and wife. THEODORE FRIEND, of Kendallville, was the guest Sunday if his father, JOHN FRIEND, south of town. The Young People's class of the U.B. Sunday school met Friday evening at the home of SAM WYATT, twenty being present. ELLA THOMAS continues to grow worse and arrangements are being made to take here to a hospital for treatment. CLOY BEREE and wife will entertain the Loyal Workers of the Christian Sunday school Wednesday evening, April 25. FRED COUNTRYMAN and wife of Butler were Sunday guests of the Baron families at this place. MANFORD SMITH and wife were here Sunday from Hicksville and spent the day with ELMER WYATT and wife.
