SCHOOLHOUSE AND UNKNOWN PEOPLE Donna Huff writes: This photo may have been taken--north of Crossroads, east of Daleville, approximately 3 miles south of Yorktown in maybe the 1910's or 1920's. I think it was a schoolhouse that was later made into a residence (maybe in the 1940's). Can anyone give the reason for this large gathering of people? Orlando "Orie" Monroe Huff taught school in this schoolhouse at one time. He was born on Oct 8, 1871 and died Aug 26, 1951. The family owned land in the area approximately 1 1/2 miles southwest of the school. (See photo of Orlando Huff and pupils below.) Click for enlarged photograph
