SAN JOSE, Calif. --
George Anslie Evans, 83, died Saturday.
George Evans was born in
Shoals on July 16, 1920. He was the ninth of 12 children born to Alice and
George Evans.
George was a graduate of Shoals High School. He was
married to Jane Wallace and she survives. He was the father of
three children, Bruce and Mark Evans and Sally Fleming.
George was the brother of
Gerry and Walter Evans, both of Washington, Cresy Evans
of Wheatland, Isma Brothers of
Loogootee and Ida Rigg of Hammond.
George died doing what he loved --
sacking "brown bags" for the needy. He shall be dearly missed.
