Lawrence Wineinger

VELPEN - Lawrence Wineinger, age 79, of Velpen, Ind., died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Northwood Good Samaritan Health Care in Jasper, Ind.

He was born in Pike County, Ind., on Oct. 31, 1927, to the late Zenas Wineinger and the late Doris (Richardson) Wineinger. He worked 25 years for Montgomery Ward and was a farmer. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1945 to 1948. He was married Sept. 18, 1948, to Lila Brittain.

He is survived by his wife Lila Wineinger of Velpen; daughter, Pamela Robertson of Velpen; two sisters, Wilma Runyon of Huntingburg and Nona Miller of Huntingburg; two brothers, John Wineinger of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Owen Wineinger of Cudahy, Wis.; two grandchildren, Drew Smith of Jasper, Ind., and Seth Smith of Velpen; and one great-grandson, Dakota Smith of Princeton, Ind.

Arrangements are being handled by Curtis Funeral Home, 300 Walnut St., Winslow, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at Curtis Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, the Rev. Lowell Thomas officiating. Interment will be at New Liberty Cemetery in Marion Township of Pike County, where military services will be conducted.
