Kesterson Cemetery

Also called Elan or Robert Hall

Most likely all traces of these graves are now gone. When these boys were killed at the Battle of Perryville their father, Jonathan Kesterson, journeyed to Perryville and and brought them home to be buried on his farm. They both fell in the same volley.

Fred Dillard once told me that when he would walk to Cuzco from his house he would take a short cut and pass these graves. He said he did so the morning he went to Cuzco to catch the train that would take him off to war in WW 1. He said he paused at the graves and wondered if the same fate awaited him.
