James M. SHUEY

James M. Shuey, candidate for Representative from this county [Norton], was born in 1849 in Fountain county, Indiana. He came to Norton in 1889 where he farmed until 1903 when he moved to Decatur county and was elected to the Legislature in 1912 and again in 1914. Mr. Shuey helped organize and was president of the Farmers Alliance which was organized some years ago as a protest against the practice of both old parties at that time. He is a member of the Christian church and a Civil War veteran. (©2005 Ardie Grimes.
