VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) – Lawrence Leo “Charlie” Sheets, 55, of 512 W. Van Buren, died at 9 a.m. Friday (June 28, 1974) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. He had been ill for some time Born June 10, 1919, in Veedersburg, he was the son of Albert and Pearl E. McKenzie Sheets. A life resident of Veedersburg, he was a veteran of World War II and had worked for the State Highway Department. Mrs. Sheets was formerly a member of the EUB Church of Veedersburg, a member of the Moose Lodge of Attica, the VFW of Covington and the American Legion of Veedersburg. Survivors include three brothers, George of Veedersburg, James of Lafayette, Kenneth of Attica and 11 nieces and nephews. A brother, William Robert preceded him in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fishero-Dickerson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Wood officiating. Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday at the funeral home.   -– jlr
