Kingman, Jan 10 – Saturday Guy E. Newman, son of Emmet Newman, two miles southeast of here, was operated on at Indianapolis for the extraction of a bullet from the calf of his leg. Thursday night it was said that Guy with his brother Dan had gone up stairs in the Newman home. The latter lost a .22calibre cartridge from his pocket.  In walking bout, it is said, he stepped on it.  It exploded. The bullet struck Guy on the knee and ranged down into the calf. It was decided that he would have to be taken to a hospital for the removing of the bullet.
