John B Inlow, son of Jacob M. Inlow and Mary Young Inlow, was born southwest of Hillsboro in the old Schott's Prairie neighborhood on the 23rd day of March, 1862. He departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs O. W. McGaughey, in Veedersburg, on Wednesday, June 3rd 1931 at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 10 days. The early part of his life was spent upon the farm in the neighborhood of his birth. He attended the common schools of the vicinity, grew to manhood there, and on November 29th 1882, he was united in marriage to Alice Livengood, daughter of James Milton Livengood, a highly respected citizen of the neighborhood. They began housekeeping on the farm but shortly after their marriage they moved to Hillsboro where Mr Inlow engaged in business, later coming to Veedersburg, where he has since continuously resided. To this union were born two children, Mary Ardella, now the wife of O.W. McGaughey of Veedersburg and Mabel Clare, the wife of Gale Smith, superintendent of the schools of Rensselaer, Indiana. Mrs Inlow preceded her husband in death September 23rd, 1923, and since that time Mr Inlow has made his home with his daughter Della. He was not a member of any fraternal order but was a faithful and consistent member of the Christian church for more than thirty-five years. Mr Inlow was by profession a painter and decorator. He was a man of high moral ideals, clean in his personal life, enthusiastic in his work and devoted to his family and church. He is survived by his two daughters, Della and Mabel, by one sister, Arizona Gross, of Waynetown , and one half sister, Nevada Inlow, also of Waynetown, Indiana. His also survived by six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one brother, Everett. He had been in declining health for the past six months and while he was not confined to his bed, yet sudden passing was no surprise to his physician or to his family. His departure will be greatly mourned not only by his surviving relatives, but by all of his friends and acquaintances
