Mr. John A. Irwin, retired coal miner and former Veedersburg resident died Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock at the Scott Nursing Home in Lafayette. Mr. irwin had been a patient at the home for three years. He was born July 24, 1875 in Parke County, the son of Madison and Jane Galey Irwin. He was married to Cordelia Truitt, who preceded him in death in 1921.
Surviving are three sons, Ranson and John, both of Glenwood, Ill; Leo of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Violet Olds of Veedersburg; and two brothers, Frank of Morton and Ray of Crown Point, Indiana.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 at the Sterling Christian Church with Rev. Chelan officiating. Burial was in the Moore Cemetery at Mansfield, Indiana. --- transcribed by kbz
