IRVIN, James Louis - 1947

James Louis Irvin, well known Veedersburg man, died early Monday morning at his home west of Veedersburg following a heart attack.  Mr. Irvin had been ill for two or three days with a heart disturbance and had suffered a paralytic stroke two years ago.

A life time resident of Fountain County, Mr. Irvin had engaged in farming and was associated in the grocery business with his father.  He was born Aug 10-, 1880 the son of Alphonse and Catherine Madigan Irvin. He is survived by a brother, S. Marek Irvin; four nephews, John at Elkhart; James at Pasadena Cal; Joe at New Orleans and Thomas at Frankfurt, Germany; two nieces, Catharine Irvin of Portland, Indiana; and Maryellen of LA; also an aunt, Bridge Madigan Chapman.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the St. Joseph Church in Covington with burial in the family lot with the Parham funeral Home in charge.   --- transcribed by kbz
