Veedersburg - Mrs. Pearl E. Isom, 80, a resident of Veedersburg and Rt 1 Covington the past 10 years, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill where she had been a patient 12 days. Mrs. Isom was a member of Stringtown Church of God, Women of the Church of God and Veedersburg Senior Citizens. She was born Sept 23, 1900 at Sciota, Ill, a daughter of Charles A. and Ella M. Combs Bagley. She married William Lawrence Isom April 6, 1929. He died Jan 3, 1958. Surviving are two sons, James E. of Pigeon Forge, Tenn and Charles D. of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Alva (Mary Loui) Carpenter of Rt 1, Covington; a brother, Harlen Bagley of Galesburg, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Ella Mae Nachtigall of Marion, SD; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother, a sister, a grandson and a granddaughter. Friends may call at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington 2-4 p.m. Sunday. The funeral will be at 1 pm. Monday in Sargent Funeral Home, Macomb, Ill with Rev. John Harness officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Ill cemetery, friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at Sargent FH. Mrs. Pearl E. Isom of Veedersburg, age 80, died Friday morning, January 30, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. She was born in Sciota, Illinois, September 23, 1900, the daughter of Charles A. and Ella Combs Bagley. April 6, 1929, she married William Lawrence Isom, who died January 3, 1958. Mrs. Isom was a member of Stringtown Church of God, Women of the Church of God and Veedersburg Senior Citizens.  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Carpenter of RR 1, Covington; two sons, Charles D. of Veedersburg and James E. of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; a sister, Mrs. Ella Mae Nachtigail of Marion, South Dakota; a brother, Harlen Bagley of Galesburg, Illinois; and nine grandchildren. Two sons and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
  The body was taken from Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington to Sargent Funeral Home at Macomb, Illinois, where funeral services were held Monday afternoon. Rev. John Harness officiated and burial was in Good Hope Cemetery at Good Hope, Illinois. – thanks so S
