Graveside rites for James Frank Jackson, 54 year old former resident of Covington and brother of Mrs Robert Kenny and Mrs. Amos Francis of Covington, were held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday Dec 1 in the Ladoga Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Hubble of Pleasant View Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Jackson died at 9.a.m. Wednesday, Nov 25, in a hospital in Hollywood, Fla. He had been a patient six days and had undergone surgery. He had been assistant manager of Food Fair, a supermarket in Hollywood. Mr Jackson had lived there 15 years. He was born in Covington on March 22, 1910, the son of Bart and Cora Hockersmith Jackson. He attended Covington High School and Brown's Business College in Danville, Ill. Mr. Jackson was manager of the Grab-It-Here store in Covington for several years. He was married to Ruth Keller of Crawfordsville in 1945. She survives along with two children by a previous marriage, a son, Gene of Columbus, Ohio and a daughter Joan in Denver, Colo.; Three sisters, Mrs Kenny and Mrs Francis of Covington and Mrs Fern Baker of Danville; one brother, Paul of Crawfordsville; two half-sisters, Mrs Rosa Runyan of Covington and Mrs Olive Bartels of Olewein, Iowa; and one grandson. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollywood. The body was then brought to the Gephart Funeral Home in Ladoga, where friends called.
