JACKSON, Jesse Raymond

  Jesse Raymond Jackson of Tangier, age 84, died Wednesday morning, October 6, in Vermillion Convalescent Center at Clinton. He was born in Fountain County, January 7, 1898, the son of James and Susan Pavey Jackson. June 7, 1919, he married Sallie M. Harvey, who died January 27, 1964.
  Jackson was a retired farmer and at one time served on the Parke County Council. He was Liberty Township trustee for two terms and was president of the Turkey Run School Board at the time the high school was constructed. He was a 50-year member of Kingman Masonic Lodge, a member of Parke County Low Twelve Club and attended Tangier Friends Church.
  Surviving are two daughters, Merle Wilkey of Terre Haute and Marjorie Grider of Danville, Illinois; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mervin, who was killed in Germany in World War II, and Morris.
  Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Tudor-Miller Memorial Chapel in Rockville with Rev. Ruth Isaacs officiating. Burial will be in Rush Creek Cemetery east of Tangier. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today (Thursday). – thanks to S
