Perrysville- Virginia “Virgie” Jackson, 75, of Perryville, who was active in Perrysville United Methodist Church and its choir, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at her home. She was a member of Royal Neighbors Club and Perrysville Bunco Club. She was born in Stringtown on April 3, 1903, a daughter of Austin H. and Mary Jane Davis Crowder. She married George F. Jackson on Oct 19, 1921, at Perrysville. He died Sept 23, 1972. Surviving are a son, Charles “Bill” of Perrysville; three daughters, Mrs Arthur (Fauniel) Sheridan of Perrysville, Mrs James (Anne) Knight of Attica and Mrs. Robert (Dorene) Allen of O’Fallon, Mo.; two brothers, Leroy “Hap” Crowder of Covington and Harold Crowder of Perrysville; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Perrysville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Heck Cemetery. Friends may call at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Perrysville, Ind- Mrs. Virginia “Virgie” Jackson, 76, a resident of Perrysville most of her life, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday (Aug 28, 1978) at her home. Born April 3, 1903, near Stringtown in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Austin H and Mary Jane Davis Crowder. She was married Oct 19, 1921, in Perrysville to George F. Jackson, who died Sept 23, 1972. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the United Methodist Church, Shaffer Camp 9601 Royal Neighbors of America and Perrysville Bunco Club. Survivors include a son, Charles “Bill” of Perrysville ; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Fauniel) Sheridan of Perrysville, Mrs. Robert (Dorene) Allen of O’Fallon, Mo., and Mrs. James (Ann) Knight of Attica; two brothers, Leroy “Hap” Crowder of Covington rural route and Harold of Perrysville; twelve grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and two half brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Perrysville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Osborne will officiate. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery. Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington and an hour before services at the church.
