Attica, Ind April 20 – R. Jacobs for whom is claimed the distinction of being the first white child born in Clinton County and of being the oldest Odd Fellow in Fountain and Warren counties died at 9:30 o’clock Sunday morning at the Soldiers’ Home Hospital in Danville, Ill where he had been a patient for the past three months. Mr. Jacobs was 94 years old.  He saw service in the Civil War. For the past 8 years he had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. William White of Attica. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. White, Mrs. Mart Hale of Danville and Mrs. Lizzie Ogle of Talbert; three sons, John of Talbert; George of North Dakota and William of Salome, Ind and three brothers, Wesley of Mulberry, Benjamin of Frankfort and Charles of Lebanon.  Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive.  The body will be taken to the home of the son William, at Salome where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
