Hillsboro, Ind. (CNS)- Emil A Jahnke, 76, of Hillsboro, died at 10:45 p.m. yesterday (Feb 9, 1967) in the Rudisill Rest Home in Covington. He had been in ill health six months. Born Feb 16, 1890, in Jahnkendorf, Germany, he was a son of Ernst and Amelia Jahnke. He had resided in Hillsboro 61 years. He was married Dec. 24, 1913 in Waynetown to Ethel Combs who preceded him in death in1963. Surviving are two sons, Ernest and Karl both of Hillsboro, and four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Epperson of Attica, Mrs. Louise Dorn of Prairie DeRocher, Ill., and Mrs. Ruby Hershberger and Mrs. Dorothy Neal both of Indianapolis. Also, two sisters, Mrs. Martha Bailey and Mrs. Ella Bever, both of Veedersburg; a brother Leopold Laube of Covington; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Jahnke was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church. He had operated a dray and truck line since 1917. Services will be at 2 p.m. (EST) Sunday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
