JANEWAY, George newlin

George Newlin Janeway of RR 1, Williamsport, age 66, died Thursday morning, September 9, at his home. He was born at Hillsboro, December 20, 1915, the son of Oscar and May Newlin Janeway. September 17, 1955, he married Cora Lakin DeBord, who survives.

  Janeway was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and Masonic Lodge, Williamsport American Legion Post, Attica Eagle Lodge and Moose Lodge at Hoopeston, Illinois. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was engaged in farming and was a contractor and excavator.

  Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Dixie Slaughter of Knox; three sisters, Mable Terbush of Pinellas Park, Florida, Mildred Hamm of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Mary Janeway of Indianapolis; four brothers, Charles of Fort Wayne, Donald of Muncie, Tom of Springfield, Illinois, and Sam of Hillsboro; two grandsons and three great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Fisher Funeral Home in Williamsport with Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Military graveside rites and burial were in Jordan Cemetery at Pence. ā€“ thanks so much to ā€œSā€
