Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 26, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for Mrs Eva Uplinger Jarett, age 80, who died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at her home in Perrysville, after an illness of eight months. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leroy Crowder, Kermit Jumps, Albert Suiters, Lewis Simmons, Ronald Crowder and Herschel Collins. Mrs. Jarett was born Nov 3, 1880 in Fountain County, a daughter of George and Mary Ensley Uplinger. She was married to A.J. Jarett who preceded her in death in 1925. Mrs. Jarett had resided in Wabash Township in Fountain County most of her life, moving to Perrysville 16 years ago. Surviving are the following nieces and nephews, Byron Uplinger of Wallace, Mrs. Mary Bodine of Covington, John Uplinger of Cayuga, Mrs. Herschel Collins of Hammond and Arthur Uplinger of Perrysville. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
