ATTICA -- George Paul Jaynes, 83, of Attica, a veteran of World War I, died Wednesday in Community Hospital at Williamsport. Born July 18, 1893, at Richmond, he was the son of William and Anna Jaynes. He was married Sept. 16, 1946, at Williamsport, to Olive Biggs. She survives. He attended Newtown School. He had worked as a farm laborer and was employed by Purdue University for seven years. Attica has been his home for the past 22 years. Other survivors include four stepsons, Howard Knowles of Attica, Clyde Knowles of Stockwell, Charles Knowles of Anderson, Grant Knowles of Mellott; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Smart of Attica, and Mrs. Ellen Wright of West Lafayette; 34 step-grandchildren, and 35 step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home here with the Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.  --waw
