Hillsboro - Ernest White Jeffries, 67 of Hillsboro, died at 10:40 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had been a patient 4 weeks and in failing health six months. He was a retired Alcoa Co. employee. He was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and Hillsboro HS graduate. He retired from Alcoa in 1972. Born August 20, 1908 he was a son of Ross and Matie Eudy Jeffries of Somerset, KY, he was married to Louise Harper on July 13, 1929 at Covington. Survivors are his wife, two sons, Herbert and Kenneth Wayne both of Hillsboro, a daughter, Mrs. Dora June Salts of Covington; a brother, Wesley Clyde of Hillsboro; a sister, Zelpha Simonton of W. Lebaon and 4 grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. -- kbz
