Fred M. Jenks, 65, of Danville, Illinois died at 7:32 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 1996 at his residence. He was born June 4, 1929, in Danville, the son of Marvin and Cleo (Berto) Jenks. Surviving are one sister, Lora Lee Davan of Covington; one niece, Janet (Frank) Hayn; two aunts; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Jenks was a resident of Danville for 20 years and former resident of Covington. He was a nursing assistant at the VA Medical Center in Danville for 30 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Jenks graduated from Perrysville HS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Fairmount, Ill and Fulton Banta Post 291 American Legion Post in Covington. Visitation was Friday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Service there on Saturday with Mike Roberts officiating. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military graveside services.
