WILLIAMSPORT β€” Cecil H. "Butch" Jernagan, Jr., 114 Brown St., Williamsport, died at 3:54 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born March 14, 1946 in Williamsport, the son of Cecil Herman and Hazel Marie Umfleet Jernagan. He was formerly married to Geneva O. Brock Aug. 7, 1971 in Williamsport. He had lived in Warren and Fountain counties and for seven years lived in Nicholasville, Ky. He attended school in Attica and Williamsport. He worked as a carpenter for Brill & Company. Survivors include: five sons, Ronald (Cindy) Jernagan, Attica, Donald (Melissa) Jernagan, Williamsport, Mike (Cindy) Allen, Attica, Tim (Tammy) Shackleford, Nicholasville, Ky. and Dwayne β€œRed” (Eva) Shackleford, Lawrenceburg, Ky.; two daughters, Teresa (Bob) Virgin, McCordsville and Michelle (Daren) Cargal, Westville; five sisters, Beverly (John) Egbert, Williamsport, Betty (Robert) Nelson, Janesville, Minn., Donna (Larkin) Murray, Indianapolis, Sandra Bennett, Williamsport and Karen (Larry) Boring, Largo; 33 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Allen; a sister, Patricia Gentry; and a brother, James Jernagan. Funeral services were at 8 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Inurement will follow at a later date in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cecil Jernagan family. – jlr
