Williamsport- (CNS)- James L. Jernagan, 75, a retired coal miner and life resident of Warren County, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Apr 18, 1951) at his home in Williamsport. He had been in failing health the past seven months. Mr. Jernagan was born Aug 8, 1875, inWarren County, the son of William and Nancy Stokes Jernagan. He was married Oct 14, 1897, to Minnie May Gwinn who survives. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Also surviving are four daughters, Mesdames Elmer Mitton of Kramer, George Howard of Williamsport Route 3, Loy Beck and Cecil Raplee, both of Williamsport; three sons, Cecil of Williamsport, Warren of Lafayette Route 8, and James H. of Lafayette; a half-brother, Thomas Fink of Hoopeston; two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Warbritton of Attica, and Mrs. Finton Solomon of Kramer; 36 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The body was returned to the family residence Thursday afternoon where friends may call after 7 p.m. The body will be returned to the Hamilton Funeral Home Saturday morning for services at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Douglas Dickey will officiate. Burial will be in McCabe Cemetery north of Williamsport.
