Leota B. Johnk, 88, of Covington died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, 1979, at the Milner Health Care Center in Rossville, Ind., where she had been a patient since February 1978. She had been ill for two years.

  Born June 19, 1890, near Covington, she was a daughter of John And Belle Knapper Bilsland. She married Fredrick A. Johnk May 29, 1913 in Covington. He died May 3, 1942.

  She lived most of her life in Covington. She moved April 1977 to the Wesley Manor nursing home in Frankfort, and in 1979 moved to Rossville.

  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Richard Henry Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Book Lover’s Club, the Woman’s Club, United Methodist Women and was an associate member of the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Tri Kappa in Covington.

  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Mary Margaret) Carter of Frankfort; a grandson, John David Stull of Lafayette, and a great grandson.

  She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two brothers.

  Services were held Monday at the United Methodist Church in Covington with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial in Bend Cemetery. – thanks to S
