JOHNSON, America Barker

Obituaries of Fountain Co IN 1893 - 1922

America Barker was born Sept 21 1861 near Grange Corner, Park Co, Ind. She was the daughter of James and Rebecca Barker, and she leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, 3 brothers, namely, David, Jesse and John, one half sister, Mrs. Frank Wilkey of Sylvania, 19 nephews and nieces. She was married to Charles E. Johnson May 18 1889. To this union no children were born. She was a member of no church but believed in the Baptist faith. Her health began to fail in the year of 1912 and was operated on in November of the same year, again on the 26th of December the same year and again in October 1914. She had been a constant sufferer every since and passed away on the evening of March 21 1915 at 8:30 p.m. age 53 years and 6 months. Funeral services were conducted from the home by Mrs. McKee of Marshall assisted by Levi Woody of Kingman. Burial was made in the Wolf Creek Cemetery. - kbz

MRS. CHARLES JOHNSON  died at her home three miles south of here on last Sunday evening after an illness of almost three years.  She is  survived by her husband, three brothers, one half sister and nineteen nephews and nieces.  The obituary will appear in next week’s issue. -s
