WINGATE -- Joan Johnson, 48, a life resident of Wingate, died Tuesday morning in her home here. She was a clerk in the Wingate Post Office for 18 years and had attended Wingate United Methodist Church. She was graduated from Wingate High School in 1943. Mrs. Johnson was born here on Aug. 15, 1928, a daughter of James and Myrtle Doss Kennedy. She married Gerald “Johnny" Johnson on June 5, 1954. Surviving are her husband; a sister, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Willman of Lafayette; a niece; and a nephew. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Lewis Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.--waw
