Kingman, Theodore 'Ted' E. Johnson, 90, Kingman, died at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday May 30 2000 in the extended care unit of St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. He was born August 29 1909 in Warren County, the son of Dr. Earl and Lavina McCarty Johnson. He married Mary Virginia Caplinger Sept 4 1931. She preceded in death Nov 28 1986. He had owned and operated a service station in Kingman for many years. He had served as trustee of Millcreek Township and also had been a school bus driver. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the US Navy. He was a member of the Kingman F&AM Lodge #314 and attended the Kingman Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter in law, Cleoria (Fred) Fox, Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Toni Johnson, Salem, Mass., Aimee Galpern, Detroit Mich, and Michael Johnaon, Carmel; five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son Richard 'Dick' Johnson and two brothers, Paul and Harrell Johnson. A memorial servicde was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Kingman Christian Church with Kenneth Majors and Larry McMillan officiating. Private inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman, was in charge of arrangement.
