Arthur Raymond Jones, 66, of Route 4, Attica (Kramer) passed away at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill., Friday morning, May 18, 1879. He had been ill since September. He was born in Bethel Ridge, Ky., on March 10, 1913, the son of Hester and Quinton Jones. He formerly resided at Bethel Ridge and has resided at Kramer and Mellott area the past 14 years. He was a career serviceman, a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He served in the navy and the army, retiring from the army on July 1, 1964, as a Staff Sgt., after 20 years of army service. Survivors include two sons, Leo F. Jones of Somerset, Ky., and John Thomas Jones of Attica; two daughters, Mrs. Hilda Trimble of Williamsport and Mrs. Wilda Childers of Somerset, Ky.; one brother, Parker Jones of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Reva Watson of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Callie Mayes also of Louisville; and 13 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Maus Funeral Home Saturday after which the body was taken to Bethel Ridge, Ky., where funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the United Methodist Church, with Rev. Al Farris officiating. He was laid to rest in the Bethel Ridge cemetery. The Haste Quartet sang favorite selections. Military graveside services were performed by the Ft. Knox Honor Squad. - jlr
