Kingman -- Loren Jones, 71, a life resident and retired carpenter in the Kingman community, died at 5:10 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two days. Born Feb. 4, 1893, in Yeddo, he was a son of Lafayette and Nancy Lindley Jones. He was wed May 7, 1921, to Ferne Richardson, who died Jan. 20, 1958. Mr. Jones, a World War I veteran, was a member of the Kingman EUB Church, Yeddo Masonic Lodge No. 636 and Covington Barracks 1995 of World War I Veterans. Survivors include a son, Dean of Kingman; a daughter, Mrs. Josephone Newnum of Ft. Wayne; a sister, Mrs. Aline Reed of Veedersburg; three brothers, Wayne and Earl of Kingman and Gerald of Steamboat Springs, Colo., six grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. (EST) Tuesday at the Kingman EUB Church, where the body will lie in state beginning at 10 a.m., and Rev. Ray Bedwell, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home in Marshall after 2 p.m. Monday.

LOREN JONES Kingman- Funeral services for Loren Jones, age 71, who died unexpectedly at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, April 18, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingman EUB Church. The Rev. Ray Bedwell, pastor, officiated and burial, with the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home of Marshall in charge, was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Mr. Jones, who had been hospitalized, since Thursday, was born Feb 4, 1893, in Cates, the son of Lafayette and Nancy Lindley Jones. He married Ferne Richardson in May 1922 and she preceded him in death in 1958. He was a life resident of the Kingman community and a retired carpenter. Mr. Jones was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Kingman EUB Church and the Yeddo Masonic Lodge No 636. Survivors include: one son, Dean, of Kingman, one daughter, Mrs. Josephine Newnum of Fort Wayne; one sister, Mrs. Aline Reed of Veedersburg; three brothers, Wayne and Earl, both of Kingman and Gerald of Steamboat Springs, Colo; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
