Newtown - Marion Jones, 83, a retired aluminum plant employee at Lafayette, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday in Williamsport Community Hospital, where he had been a patient a week. A native of Meade County, Kentucky, he was born Aug 14, 1882. He was married in Elizabethtown, Ky., to Cora Atcher in 1909.They moved to Indiana in 1928. She died Dec 16, 1959. Mr. Jones was a member of the Church of God. He retired from the aluminum plant in 1958. Survivors include three sons, Jesse L and Russell A., at home and James F. of Attica; four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Kidder of Lafayette, Mrs. Mona Patton of Mascoutah, Ill., Mrs. Beulah Barnhart of Rossville and Mrs. Louise Roudebush of Lafayette; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A son, Bernie, preceded Mr. Jones in death in 1950. Funeral rites are announced for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Ronny DeLong will be the minister, and interment will be in Newtown cemetery.

Marion Jones, age 83, of Newtown, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, March 14, at the Community Hospital in Williamsport where he had been a patient one week. He was a retired employee of the Aluminum Co. in Lafayette. Mr. Jones was born Aug 14, 1882, in Meade County, Ky. He was married at Elizabethtown, Ky in 1909 to Cora Atcher, who preceded him in death Dec. 16, 1959. He was a member of the Church of God. He had retired in 1958. He is survived by: three sons,Jesse L. at home, Russell A of Newtown and James F. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. The Rev. Ronny DeLong officiated and burial was in the Newton Cemetery.
