Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mabel M. Jordan, 75, R. R. 2, Williamsport passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. Friday, November 28, 1976 after being a patient four days. She had been in failing health for thirteen years. She was born in Bismark, Ill. on July 12, 1901, the daughter of George W. and Effie I. Beever Allen. She had been a resident of R. R. 2, Williamsport since 1935. She had lived in Warren County most of her life. She was married in 1920 in Danville, Ill. to John V. (J. V.) Jordan who preceded her in death in 1969. Mr. Jordan had been sheriff of Warren County for two terms and had also been Williamsport Town Marshall. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker and a member of Galloway Chapel, United Brethren Church. She was also a member of W. M. A. of the church and also a member of the Jolly Friends Club. Surviving are two sons, Max D. Jordan of Williamsport and Porter Jordan of R. R. 1, West Lebanon; two daughters, Mrs. LaVone Garrison of R. R. 2, Williamsport, Mrs. Janice Marlene Wesley of Williamsport; a sister, Mrs. Orril Lucas, Williamsport; two brothers, Everett Allen, Danville, Ill. and Roy (Jack) Allen, Hammond, Ind. Also ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. One brother and one granddaughter preceded her in death. Calling was at the Fisher Funeral Home in Williamsport Chapel with Rev. Archie Kent and Joel Hutson officiating. Interment followed in the West Lebanon Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.  --waw
