Pauline M. Smith of Covington, age 69, died Saturday, July 10, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville, Illinois, and her brother, John Julian of Williamsport, age 59, was pronounced dead on arrival at Williamsport Community Hospital on Sunday afternoon, July 11.

  They were both born near Cayuga, the children of John T. and Lily M. Whyde Julian. Mrs. Smith was born May 9, 1913, and Julian on February 16, 1923. She was a member of Orchard Hills Church of Christ in Covington. Julian was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Williamsport American Legion and Attica VFW.

  They are survived by two sisters, Mabel Crowder of Veedersburg and Madeline Abernathy of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Dale Julian of Hartford City and Mickey Julian of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Julian is also survived by a son, Bradley D. stationed with the Navy in Hawaii but home on leave. Mrs. Smith is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Williamsport – John T. Julian 59 of 301 Oak St, Williamsport was dead on arrival at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Community Hospital, Williamsport apparently of a heart attack. Born near Cayuga, he had lived at Hartford City, Ind for a time, moving to Williamsport 20 years ago.  He had been employed at Harrison Steel Casting several years, where he worked in the foundry.  An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater.  He was a member of American Legion 259 at Williamsport and VFW 3318 at Attica.  Surviving are a son, Bradley D. Julian, serving in the US Navy at Hawaii; two sisters, Mrs. Ora (Mable) Crowder of Rt 2, Veedersburg and Mrs. Manford (Madeline) Abernathy of Crawfordsville; and two brothers, Dale Julian of Hartford City and Mickey Julian of Albuquerque, N Mex. – kbz

JULIAN, John – Friends may call at Fisher Funeral Home Williamsport, after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Service in Fisher Chapel, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Paul Kent officiating.  Interment service is incomplete. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A daughter and two infant sons preceded him in death. - kbz
