Derrick LaBaw, youngest son of Simon Labaw of Shawnee Township, died at his home last Saturday monring from injuries received in a runaway three weeks before and from which he had suffered greatly ever since. He was a splendid young man only about 21 and leaves a young wife to whom he was married only last spring. The funeral services occurred Monday morning at 11 o'clock and interement was made at Brown Chapel Cemetery in sight of the home where he was born and brought up. The hearts of all go out to the sorrowing parents brother and sister but most of all to the little woman to whom his death has come as an awful sorrow, within so short a time after her marriage. The future held for them all that was birght and happy, and no thought of this awful tragedy could have found room in their hearts until it was seen that his days were numbered and nothing that skill and loving care could do would save his precious young life. There are few better young men than was Derrick LaBaw. in 12-26-1903 issue - burial conducted from New Castle Church on Monday Dec 21, 1903 at 11 a.m. Rev. Wm. Flammer of Crawfordsville officiating. We desire to thank all friends and ndighbors for their kindness and sympthy in the illness and death of our dear son, brother and husband. Died at the home of his parents
