Last year’s toll at this time of year was 573.  James L. Lade, 24 of Bel Air Trailer Court, Lafayette died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday in Lafayette’s St. Elizabeth Hospital.  Death was attributed to head injuries received in the 7:30 p.m. Saturday mishap.
