ATTICA — Mary Jane (Engle) Lanie, 83, Attica, died at 11:09 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 in The Waters of Covington. She was born Feb. 19, 1923 in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Mary (Shouse) Engle. She married Amous Lanie at Camp Lejuene, N.C. at the St. Francis Xavier Church on base Dec. 13, 1944. He preceded in death Dec. 26, 1999. She was a graduate of Danville High School, Danville, Ill. She lived in Danville until her marriage. While farming in Pence and Judyville she and her husband resided in Warren County. They had lived in Attica since 1974. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica. She enjoyed bowling, golf, needlework and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include: two sons, John A. (Roberta) Lanie, Greencastle and Tim J. (Linda) Lanie, Indianapolis; two daughters, Jane Ann Lanie, Danville, Ill. and Judy (Joe) Rockford, Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Barb (Don) Schroeder, San Diego, Calif.; three grandsons, Jason Lanie, Joe Lanie and Jeff Lanie; and a granddaughter, Katie Lanie. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Lanie; three brothers, Fred Engle, Frank Engle and John Engle; and two sisters, Helen McDaniel and Marie Butt. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) in St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica with Father David Rasner officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica. Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Brian Lanie Memorial Scholarship Fund in c/o Putnam County Foundation, P. O.
