Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

WEST LEBANON, Ind. (CNS) --Mrs. Celda Elizabeth Lape, 69, a resident of the Hedrick community for the past 34 years, died at 1:30 a. m. Saturday (April 23, 1960) at her home following an illness of several years. She had been seriously ill six days. Born Sept. 15, 1890 in Warren County, she was the daughter of Charles and Emma Wall Crowell. She was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include her husband, John; three sons, Owen of Ripley, Iowa, James of Burbank, Calif., and Paul of Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Beardsley of Hedrick, Mrs. Marie Kemble of Jackson, Mich., and Mrs. Audrey Kemble of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Martha Mull of Lafayette; a brother, Cecil Crowell of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at the Hedrick Church of God. Time for services has not been set. The Rev. James Watkins will officiate, with burial in the West Lebanon Cemetery. The body is at the Machledt Funeral Home in West Lebanon.  --typed by Walt W

WEST LEBANON, Ind. (CNS) -- Services were held at 2:30 p. m. Monday at the Hedrick Church of God for Mrs. Celia Elizabeth Lape, 69, a resident of Hedrick for 34 years, who died Saturday at her home. The Rev. James M. Watkins officiated, with burial in West Lebanon. The Machledt Funeral Home was in charge.
