LAPPIN, David Oliver

COVINGTON — David Oliver Lappin, 53, Covington, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007 at his residence. . He was born July 30, 1954 in Danville, Ill., the son of Charles and Mary (Kinney) Lappin. He married Sharon Shuman July 20, 1974. She survives. He worked as a construction worker for Zach Thomas Construction. He loved fishing, being around people, and especially loved spending time with his nieces, Jenayah and Whitney. Survivors, besides the wife, include: his mother of Danville, Ill.; two brothers, Dan (Teresa) Lappin, Stockwell and Dennis Lappin, Tarpin Springs, Fla.; three sisters, Diana Powell, Danville, ill., Donna Lappin, Danville, Ill. and Debra (Kent) Westfall, Alvin, Ill.; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; special friends, George Murphy, Indianapolis and Dave Waldon, Covington; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother-in-law, Bobby Shuman; his mother-in-law, Helen Shuman; his father-in-law, Bill Shuman; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Meeker; and his paternal grandparents, Oliver and Ida Lappin. A celebration of David's life was at 1 p.m. Sunday in Sunset's Covington Chapel with Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington.
