LEMING, Mary Elizabeth Anglin

Source: Veedersburg News, 18 April 1944

Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas J. and Permelia C. Anglin, was born Oct 6, 1872, and departed this life April 15, 1944 at the age of 72 years 7 months 9 days.  On October 22, 1888 she was married to William J. Leming.  To this union two daughters were born: Mrs. Minnie Gush who preceded her in death several years ago, and Mrs. Eveia Payton at whose home she died. Her husband had also passed away.  Lizzie, as she was affectionately called by her friends, enjoyed her Christian work, which she was always ready to do - whether great or small, she did her best.  In her young womanhood she joined the Baptist Church at Newtown.  In later years she placed her membership in the New Century United Brethren Church where she faithfully attended until her health failed. She was a member of the New Century Ladies Aid and Bonebrake Corner Cemetery League, which she enjoyed very much. She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, three granddaughers and three great grandsons; also two sisters, Mrs. Ella Edwin of Indianapolis and Mrs. Lou Sanger of Veedersburg; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends
--------
We wish to thank the kind friends who in any way helped during the sickness and death of Mrs. Leming, especially Brother Bennet Fulp, the flower bearers, the pall bearers, and Mrs. Robert Dice for the singing.
May we in some way be able to help each of you when sorrow comes.  Her sisters, Mrs. Ella Erwin; Mrs. Lou Songer   --- transcribed by kbz
