Martha Florence McCoy, daughter of Spencer and Eliza McCoy was born in Shelbyville, Ky on Oct 15, 1860 and departed this life on Oct 19, 1940 aged 80 years and 4 days. When a small child she moved with her parents to Tippecanoe County Indiana later moving to Fountain County. She was united in marriage to Mrs. Andrew Jackson Lewsader on April 17, 1878.
this union were born 11 children 7 of whom have preceded her in death, also her husband. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, one son, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two brothers. The children are: Mrs. Charles Honn of near Mount Ayr with whom she had made her home since the passing of her husband, 14 years ago, Mrs. Sam Oswalt of near Attica, Ind; Mrs. Harry Cochran of Bradley, Ill and Mr. Homer Lewsader of Hammond, Ind.
The brothers are Robert McCoy and William McCoy both of Covington, Ind. She was a kind and loving mother, always want to do for others less fortunate than herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral was held at the Brook Funeral Home and she was laid to rest in the Oakland cemetery at Morocco. - kbz
