Source: Unknown newspaper (collection of obituaries of Fauniel Hershberger)

Maggie V. Boner, daughter of Patrick S. and Malissa E. Boner was born May 6, 1877 in Wabash Twp, Fountain County Ind near Snoddy’s Mill and departed this life at Lake View Hospital in Danville Ill on Feb 16, 1945. On Easter Sunday in the year 1900 she was married to Milton Lindley of Millcreek Township, Fountain County Indiana. To this happy union were born four children; 3 boys and one girl. The daughter, Iona and an infant son preceded her in death. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and Guide, uniting with the Burnside Chapel Church later moving her membership to the Cates United Brethren Church of which she has been an active and beneficient patron, faithful unto death. She will be remembered as a kind, loving and dutiful mother, wife and friend.  Ever willing to lend a helping hand, the high esteem of her friends and neighbors is only partly revealed as president of the Cates UB Ladies Aid, teacher of the Mothers Bible Class, member of the Home Economics Club, Royal Neighbors, and Order of Eastern Star. Her life does not demand that we endeavor to extoll or exalt the virtues of this, our friend, for words fail. But as one friend has said, “She has lived the life of godliness in the presence of all, and always smoothed down the rough places in the lives of others by her kind words and deeds. A living testimony for Jesus. “ What more can we say :  Left to mourn are: the husband, Milton Lindley; a son Patrick W and wife, Viola and their two children, Darrell and Farrell; a son, Lt. Perry E, and wife Nannie May of El Paso, Texas two sisters, Mrs. Stella Penner of Melrose, NM; and Mrs. Iva Shafforr of Danville, Ill; a brother EH Boner of Covington, Ind; several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and a host of friends. - kbz
