Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Thursday, June 8, at the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg for Oscar Lindquist, age 83, of Veedersburg, who died at noon Tuesday, June 6, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville. He had been ill since November and hospitalized 10 days. The Rev. Bennett Fulp officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Born in Fountain County Feb. 23, 1878, he was a son of Charles and Seretta Lindquist. He was married in 1912 to Sadie Gilbert, who survives. Mr. Lindquist was a retired farmer and a member of the New Century Evangelical United Brethren Church. He formerly lived in the Veedersburg Rt. 2 area. Also surviving are five children, Charles, Francis and Thomas, all of Veedersburg, Harry of Kingman and Mrs. Helen McElwee of Kingman and 16 grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were: Robert Maltsbarger, Walter Howard, Gordon Howard, Ed Gray and Tom Bennett of Veedersburg Rt. 2 and Fred Vollmer of Covington.  --typed by Walt W

VEEDERSBURG — Oscar Lindquist, 83, retired farmer, died at noon Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient 10 days. He had been ill since last November. Mr. Lindquist was a native and lifetime resident of Fountain County. He was born Feb. 23, 1878, to Charles A. and Serepta Holt Lindquist and was married Feb. 15, 1912, to Sadie Gilbert. Surviving are the wife; four sons, Charles, Francis and Thomas of Veedersburg and Harry of Kingman; a daughter, Mrs. Helen McElwee of Kingman, and 16 grandchildren. Mr. Lindquist was a member of the New Century EUB Church. Friends may call at the Fishero Funeral Home, where services are announced for 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Bennett Fulp of Crawfordsville officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington.  --typed by Walt W
